ISHA’s 10th anniversary meeting in Melbourne, Australia on 4-6 October 2018 had a focus on reviewing the past 10 years of the four key hip pathologies and their main structures, with concurrent and parallel sessions allowing attendees to explore all four or focus in depth on one pathology. This was the first meeting fully incorporating open hip surgery into the Society and Annual Meeting, and therefore included a number of changes. For the first time, video presentations and virtual surgery simulation sessions were included in the programme alongside symposia, lectures, scientific paper presentations, industry workshops, ePosters, technical exhibits and awards. Instructional course lectures were more interactive, with the ability for the audience to submit questions. Steven Graves provided a lecture on registries as the Presidential Guest Speaker. The programme additionally accommodated an Asian Society Meeting and dedicated Physiotherapy Programme, including instructional presentations, an address from Dr Peter Braun, Australian Team Medical Director to the Australian Winter Olympic Team, lectures and workshops.
