Dr Paul E Beaulé, MD
Ottawa ON, Canada

Dr Paul E. Beaulé specializes in joint preserving surgery of the hip as well as hip arthroplasty. After completing his training at University of Ottawa, he pursued his fellowship training at University of California, Los Angeles and University of Southern California. Currently, he is Professor of Surgery and Head of the Division of Orthopaedic Surgery at the University of Ottawa and Past President of the Canadian Orthopaedic Research Society.

Dr Rodrigo Mardones, MD

Assistant Professor Rodrigo Mardones is a member of the Adult Reconstructive Surgery Group, Department of Orthopedics Surgery, at Clinica Las Condes and Chief of the Hip surgery unit at the Hospital Militar, Santiago, Chile. He is also a Director of the Stem Cells for cartilage repair project at Clinica Las Condes. He received his MD at the Universidad de Chile in 1999 and completed a specialization in orthopedics in 2002.

Dr Allston J. Stubbs is a board certified orthopaedic surgeon specializing in Sports Medicine and Hip Restoration at Wake Forest Baptist Health. His experience in the field of health care has spanned over 25 years and comprises roles in both academic and private health delivery models within the United States and abroad. He has led various national and international initiatives to improve orthopaedic surgical education, research, and outcomes.

Dr John J Christoforetti, MD, FAAOS

John J Christoforetti, MD FAAOS is a board-certified orthopedic surgeon with over 15 years of experience treating hip, shoulder and knee injuries with arthroscopic surgery using evidence-based, patient-centered conservative and surgical methods. His patients include active professional, collegiate, Olympic and high school athletes and adult and adolescent patients pursuing active-lifestyles. A native of Pittsburgh, he completed undergraduate studies at the University of Notre Dame and medical school and orthopaedic surgery training at Georgetown University, where he served as Chief Resident in 2006. He completed his fellowship training at the Steadman-Hawkins Clinic of the Carolinas and began the practice of academic orthopedic surgery in Pittsburgh in 2007 where he actively trained over 40 residents and fellows.

In 2023  joined the team of experts at the Maryland Orthopedic Specialists division of the Centers for Advanced Orthopedics. His outside interests include spending time with family, boating, surfing, skiing, and travel.

He is specialized in Hip Surgery, from Sports Medicine to Total Hip Replacement with anterior minimal invasive approach and Revision Hip Surgery. He is Nationally and Internationally renowned in Hip Arthroscopy and as such he is sent patients coming from all over France requiring specific expertise.

He specializes in hip arthroscopy, treatment of Femoroacetabular impingement (FAI), Developmental Dysplasia of the hips (DDH), ACL and/or PCL reconstruction, elbow arthroscopy, shoulder arthroscopy and ankle arthroscopy. ​​

Dr Olufemi R Ayeni, MD, PhD, FRCSC

Dr. Ayeni is a Professor and the Academic Head of Orthopaedic Surgery at McMaster University. He is currently the medical director for the Hamilton Tiger Cats (Canadian Football League) and Forge FC (Canadian Premier League) and previously served as the assistant team physician for the New Jersey Nets (National Basketball Association). ​He has published over 300 academic publications in sports medicine as well as several textbooks focused on sports medicine/research.

Andrea M. Spiker, MD, is an Assistant Professor of Orthopedic Surgery at the University of Wisconsin-Madison. She is board certified in Orthopedic Surgery, subspecialty certified in Orthopedic Sports Medicine, and is dual fellowship-trained in Orthopedic Sports Medicine and Hip Preservation. She is a team physician for UW Badger Athletics and provides head orthopedic coverage for the UW Men’s and Women’s Basketball teams. Dr Marín-Peña is a Senior Consultant of Hip Surgery at the Orthopaedic Surgery and Traumatology Department at University Hospital Infanta Leonor (Madrid, Spain) which is part of the National Public Health System of Spain. He also has a limited private practice at Hospital La Luz (Madrid, Spain). His main focus is predominantly hip surgery which involves hip arthroplasty (primary and revision), hip trauma and hip preserving surgery (arthroscopic and open techniques). He is involved in different clinical research projects about treatment of young patients with hip problems that requires conservative treatment, hip preserving surgery and hip arthroplasty.

Vikas Khanduja is a Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon & Research Lead (Elective) at Addenbrooke’s – Cambridge University Hospital, specialising in hip and knee surgery and has a particular interest in arthroscopic surgery of the hip. He has been instrumental in setting up & developing the tertiary referral service for Young Adult Hip Surgery in Cambridge. Complementing his clinical practice, his research interests centre around disease stratification of FAI using novel imaging techniques, better pre-operative planning tools using dynamic analysis and optimisation of arthroscopic management of FAI via precision surgery to improve outcomes.

After graduating from medical school in Germany, Dr. Wuerz conducted research at the Biomedical Engineering at the Massachusetts General Hospital before completing two years of orthopedic surgery residency at the Inselspital Bern, Switzerland. He completed a masters in health policy and economics at the London School of Economics for. Dr Wuerz was awarded the first traveling fellowship by ISHA and spent time at the Steadman Clinic in Vail, Colorado, and the Schulthess Clinic in Zurich, Switzerland. He started working at the New England Baptist Hospital as an attending physician before joining the Boston Sports and Shoulder Center.
