Richard Field was the 2015 ISHA Scientific Programme Chair and 2018-19 1st VP.
He is the Professor of Orthopaedic Surgery at St George’s University of London. His National Health Service practise is based at the South West London Elective Orthopaedic Centre where he is the Director of Research.
His London private practise is based at the Lister Hospital in Chelsea and his Surrey practise is based at St Anthony’s hospital in Cheam.
Richard is a board member of the British Hip Society and an editorial board member of the Journal of Hip Preservation Surgery.
He undertook his PhD in Cambridge and his surgical training in London, Cambridge and Melbourne. He was introduced to Hip Arthroscopy when working with Richard Villar, in 1991.
His current research interests include synovial circulation, hip instability, cartilage regeneration and clinical outcomes.
Richard works with a multidisciplinary team and welcomes Fellows wishing to learn hip arthroscopy and muscle sparing hip replacement.
