ISHA Partner Society ESSKA Launch Consensus on Hip and Groin Pain in Physically Active Adults

ISHA’s partner society ESSKA – European Society of Sports Traumatology, Knee Surgery & Arthroscopy has had a strong history of developing consensus statements on contentious topics impacting routine clinical practice.

The ESSKA EHPA and ESSKA-ESMA Consensus on Hip and Groin Pain in Physically Active Adults focusing on:

What terminology should be used?
What clinical examination tests should be performed?
What are the first and second line imaging investigations for this cohort?

was presented recently in Milan at the ESSKA 2024 Congress.

ISHA members Vikas Khanduja and Per Hølmich lead a diverse group of over 75 experts from across Europe and further a field consisting of hip surgeons, sports specialists, groin and abdominal surgeons, physiotherapists and radiologists to answer these questions.

The Steering group  members included additional ISHA members Athanasios (Thanos) Papavasiliou, Priv.-Doz. Dr. med. Sufian S. AHMAD, and Olufemi (Femi) Ayeni.

This topic will be discussed further at ISHA 2024 in Washington DC.  Come and be part of the discussion.
